Accounting Assistant - Prince George, BC

Our Prince George office currently requires an accounting assistant for our administrative team. This position will provide relevant accounting related experience in a retail, multi-branch company atmosphere. We are looking for an individual who loves working with numbers and is detail oriented.

 

Job Description and Responsibilities:

· Assist Controller in day to day accounting activities including: bank recons, accounts payable, accounts receivable, preparing and entering journal entries, inventory control, data entry & account reviews

· Assist Controller in monthly accounting activities including: PST, GST & WCB remittances, monthly journal and account entries, monthly recons & preparing financial statements

· Duties may also include timecard and payroll preparation & other HR related functions

· Provide administrative, reception and clerical support as needed. May include: answering phones, assisting customers & other departments, invoicing, scanning, emailing, faxing etc

Full-time in the summer months. Part-time, between 25 to 40 hours per week during the school year.

 

Qualifications:

· Grade 12 plus College or University Accounting Courses

· Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures

· Excellent computer skills – hands on experience with Excel and accounting software

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

· Positive attitude and eager to learn

· Great mathematical, problem solving and attention to detail skills.
